Michele Charmello-Scanlan, Executive Director
Prior to joining MUSA in 2023, Michele led Non-Profit organizations in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. As an Early Childhood/Special Education professional, Michele has classroom, early intervention and adjunct instructor experience. She holds a BS in Education from Lock Haven University, MA in Special Education from New Jersey City University and a post Graduate Certification in Leadership and Supervisory Studies from Cornell University. Michele is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and Lock Haven University Alumni Board of Directors. mcharmello@musasv.org

Nikki Fechter, Preschool Program Director
Preschool Program Director and Lead Teacher Nikki joined MUSA in 2014 to serve the children of Steel Valley and to give back to the community where she was raised and still resides. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in PreK-4th Grade Education with a minor in Special Education from Point Park University, and she received a director’s credential certification through the state of Pennsylvania. nfechter@musasv.org

Catherine Sullivan, School-Age Program Director
Prior to joining MUSA in October 2021, Catherine earned 2 master’s degrees and taught 5th grade for 3 years before transitioning to Out of School Time programming. csullivan@musasv.org

Courtney Stein, Operations Manager
Courtney joined MUSA in 2021 and supports our operations with over 10 years of experience working with youth. She is passionate about servant leadership, growing programs, and building relationships with youth, families, and the community. cstein@musasv.org
Preschool

Christi Brooks, Pre-K Counts Lead Teacher
Christi joined MUSA in summer 2022. She previously served as the Pre-K Counts Teacher at Wilkins Elementary School, and she is very determined to be the most creative, flexible, and understanding educator that she can be. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. prek@musasv.org

Alanna Snyder, Assistant Teacher
Alanna began teaching in the MUSA preschool in 2017, where she has gained experience in pedagogy, behavior management, curriculum development, social/emotional strategies, and inclusion. She has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from CCAC.

Christine Nagle, Assistant Teacher
Christine joined MUSA in the fall of 2020 and has a clear dedication to helping children. She earned her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. She has supported MUSA school-age programs, summer camp, operations, and preschool room during her years at MUSA.

Joanne Kraeuter, Assistant Teacher
Joanne joined MUSA in 2021 and brings over 14 years of experience, from working with 3 and 4 year olds at Calvary Baptist to her experience in an Elementary Special Education classroom.

Kathi Anderson, Assistant Teacher
Kathi joined MUSA in October 2021, bringing 40+ years of experience working with children. She is experienced in American Sign Language and has extensive knowledge in inclusive classrooms, in addition to an Associate’s Degree in Child Development from CCAC.

As’Zradi Smith, Site Co-Supervisor
Before joining MUSA in 2019, As’Zradi achieved an Associate’s Degree in Human Services, and is working towards her bachelor’s in Behavioral Science. “I enjoy every child in our program, and they each hold a piece of my heart.” ba@musasv.org

OJ joined MUSA in fall 2020, bringing many years of experience and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

Jonette Bost, Substitute
Jonette has been teaching grades K-5 for nearly 20 years in the Steel Valley School District, and joined MUSA as a substitute for our after school, preschool, and summer camp programming in 2015 to continue to support the community.

Maria Mastrangelo, Site Supervisor
Originally from Philadelphia, Maria studied Social Work and has experience in the preschool setting before joining MUSA in winter 2022. She enjoys making a positive impact on youth in her current role. park@musasv.org

Dee Drozd
A lifetime Munhall resident, Dee’s career includes years of psychiatric nursing with children. Upon retiring, she joined MUSA as a substitute for our preschool and after school programs and has been supporting MUSA for the past 10 years.

Sara Eisel
As a Steel Valley parent, Sara joined MUSA as a volunteer to show appreciation for the opportunities our programs provided her family. Her desire to give back led to becoming a staff member in the fall of 2021.

Monica Tyler
Monica came to MUSA in 2022 with 11 years of experience working with youth, from supporting as a paraeducator for an elementary special education department, to teaching art for after school programs.

Nate Mosley, Jr.
Born and raised in the neighboring Duquesne community, Nate spent 4 summers in camp programming with the Boys & Girls Club of Western PA before joining MUSA in 2022 as our Operations Assistant.

Enonya Green
Enonya has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Special Education, and joined MUSA as a summer camp counselor in 2021 to continue her love of working with children.

Haley Pomaibo
Joining the MUSA team in 2021, Haley serves as a substitute across all MUSA programs during winter, spring, and summer break. She is completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education.
